About the Role

Mqhele Yezizwe Foundation is seeking a creative, passionate and tech-savvy volunteer to amplify our online presence and help us tell our story to the world! As a Volunteer Social Media & Content Creator, you'll play a vital role in developing and implementing our digital content strategy, engaging our community and reaching new supporters.

We're looking for someone who is not only skilled in social media management and content creation but also passionate about our mission and values. As a key member of our volunteer team, you'll be responsible for creating and curating high-quality content that showcases our work, inspires our audience and drives engagement across our social media platforms

Requirements

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Develop and implement social media content strategies to grow audience and engagement (captions, reels, graphics, carousels)

  • Create high-quality, engaging content (videos, posts, stories, graphics etc) for various social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, TikTok etc)

  • Manage and schedule content across multiple social media platforms utilising tools like Meta Business Suite or Later

  • Monitor analytics and respond to engagements with online community

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends, algorithm changes and best practices

  • Collaborate with influencers, partners or other teams to expand reach and engagement

  • Develop and maintain brand voice and tone across social media platforms

  • Collaborate with the PR & Marketing team on the monthly content calendar

  • Measure and report on social media performance using analytics tools


SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS


  • National Senior Certificate (Grade 12)

  • Previous content creation experience (even personal projects) is advantageous

  • Video production and editing

  • Skilled in Canva or basic design tools

  • Strong writing and communication skills (English; other SA languages advantageous)

  • Engagement and community management

  • Analytics and performance tracking

  • Creativity and storytelling

  • Familiar with Instagram & Facebook best practices

  • Able to work independently and meet deadlines

  • Adaptability and flexibility

  • Passionate about education, youth empowerment, and community development
