About the Role

Mqhele Yezizwe Foundation is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Volunteer PR & Marketing Assistant to support our marketing activities. This role will support the PR & Marketing team in their efforts to promote the company's mission through digital channels, social media, and content creation.

They will also assist with research, data analysis, and administrative tasks as needed. As a volunteer, you will work closely with our PR & Marketing Director to promote our vision & mission, engage supporters, and raise awareness for our programs and initiatives.

Requirements

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXCEPTIONS BUT NOT LIMITED TO


  • Assist in the development and execution of marketing campaigns to promote the organization's programs, events, and fundraising initiatives.

  • Support social media efforts by creating and scheduling content, engaging with followers, and monitoring analytics.

  • Collaborate with the communications team to create compelling written and visual content for various platforms, including website, blog, community radio stations, newsletters, and social media.

  • Help maintain and update the organization's website with relevant content, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

  • Assist in the coordination of email marketing efforts, including drafting newsletters, managing subscriber lists, and tracking campaign performance.

  • Contribute to the design and production of marketing materials such as flyers, brochures, and promotional videos.

  • Assist with event planning and execution, including logistics coordination, outreach efforts, and on-site assistance.

  • Provide administrative support to the public relations & marketing team.


    REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS


  • Passion for social causes and a commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

  • National Senior Certificate (Grade 12)

  • Prior formal experience in PR & Marketing or related fields is desirable but not required.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey messages effectively to diverse audiences.

  • Basic understanding of marketing principles and strategies.

  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing tools.

  • Creativity and attention to detail, with the ability to generate engaging content.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Flexibility and willingness to learn new skills.
