As a Community Research Specialist at Mqhele Yezizwe Foundation, you will be a key player in informing program development and community engagement initiatives through rigorous research and analysis. The Community Research Specialist will be responsible for conducting research and analysis to inform program development, understanding community needs, and identifying opportunities for impact. This role will work closely with the Executive Director to design and implement research projects, analyze data, and develop actionable recommendations.
Requirements
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct research and analysis to understand community needs, trends, and opportunities for impact.
• Design and implement research projects, including surveys, focus groups, and interviews.
• Analyze data and develop actionable recommendations to inform program development and community engagement initiatives.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director to integrate research findings into program design and implementation.
• Develop and maintain relationships with community stakeholders, including community leaders, organizations, and residents.
• Stay up to date with best practices in community research and evaluation.
• Contribute to the development of reports, briefs, and other materials to communicate research findings.
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Research Methods, or a related field
• Strong research and analytical skills, with understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong writing and presentation skills, with experience in developing reports and briefs.
• Familiarity with community development principles and practices
